Data collection
SchauMD does not collect personal information, usage analytics, diagnostics, advertising identifiers, or tracking data. There are no accounts, subscriptions, advertisements, or third-party analytics SDKs.
Your documents
Markdown documents are opened and rendered locally on your device. SchauMD does not upload documents or send their contents to a server. The app is read-only and does not modify or autosave source files.
Network behavior
Rendering uses assets bundled with the app. Remote images in documents are represented as inert placeholders instead of being downloaded automatically. Links open only when you choose to follow them through the operating system.
Information stored on your device
SchauMD may store app preferences, recent-file security bookmarks, reading settings, Mac window geometry, and whether the one-time default-viewer prompt has been shown. These values stay in the app’s local container or system preferences and are not transmitted to us.
Printing and PDF export
Printing is handled by the operating system. PDF exports are created only at the location you choose. SchauMD does not receive a copy.
Children’s privacy
Because SchauMD collects no personal data, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
